The Rivertown Quilters believe that quilts represent a warm hug from someone who cares. With this in mind, we make quilts for:
Quilts of Valor:
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
The Youth Encouragement Services ( YES) home was established in 1981 by a group of concerned citizens with the intent to provide a homelike atmosphere for abused, abandoned and neglected children. Rivertown quilters mission is to provide a quilt for every child that is a resident there. Roughly 390 quilts have been given to the children over the last 13 years.
The guild holds a silent auction and other events through the year to raise money to purchase fabric and batting for these quilts.
Some of the other projects that guild members are involved with are quilts for the Ronald McDonald house in Cincinnati and quilts for some of the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at our area hospitals.
