The Rivertown Quilters believe that quilts represent a warm hug from someone who cares. With this in mind, we make quilts for:
Quilts of Valor:
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing “Quilts of Valor”. We have been making quilts for QOV since 2014 and have made and awarded 293 quilts so far. In 2021, we awarded 42 quilts to veterans. In 2022, we awarded 26 total to veterans. In 2023, we awarded a total of 14 quilts.
Some of the other projects that guild members are involved with are quilts for the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati and quilts for some of the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at our area hospitals, Project Linus, and Clever to Care and My Very Own Blanket.
Here are the size guidelines for the quilts:
Sizes for Charity: Minimum size 50” X 60” - Ideal 54” X 67” – Maximum size 72” X 87”.
Sizes for Quilts of Valor: Minimum size 5 feet x 6 feet max size is 72” X 90”
